Designed to look great year after year, each product is beautifully crafted to the highest standards
Our in-house experts use traditional techniques learned over decades of experience, alongside the latest innovations in precision machinery, to bring our designs to life.
It is only by striking a perfect balance between modern manufacturing and traditional craft, that we’re able to make sure that every seam, joint, edge, and finish is flawless. We welcome clients to visit our factories to see our artisans in action – cabinet makers, upholsterers, cutters, sewists and sprayers, who take great pride in their work.
Whether its fabric, vinyl or leather, we upholster everything by hand
The human touch is irreplaceable when it comes to upholstery. Only by having an in depth knowledge of the way different materials behave, can we achieve a consistent level of quality across any scale of order.
There are thousands of fabric combinations that can be specified across all our product ranges. If we haven’t upholstered a piece with that fabric before, we do a ‘fit test’, to look for potential pattern distortion or sagging. Much like a tailor’s final fitting, we then adjust our cutting pattern to ensure it will look perfect sit, after sit.
Our products pass through an average of 22 pairs of hands
At our seating factory, a new chair rolls off the line every 24 seconds - but crafting a piece of our furniture can take up to 20 days, and our products pass through an average of 22 pairs of hands.
We pay close attention to leather, because a good hide wears the scars and flaws of an animal that has been allowed to freely roam. As soon as the skins are ready to come out of the stores, they’re put on a marking-up table, and each skin is inspected by eye, marking up every imperfection. Once marked up, it goes to our digital cutter, which uses an algorithm to calculate the most efficient way to cut the pattern out, avoiding flaws and minimising waste.
Stitching is a key element of quality, and our sixty sewists are skilled in over a dozen stitching styles
Our sewists are celebrated for their attention to the smallest detail, beautiful craftsmanship, and practised precision. Our sewists take great pride in building something designed to look beautiful year after year, without exception.
We have over a dozen different stitching styles that we use across our ranges, and our sewists are a master of each one. Our sewing rooms live under the same workshop roof as upholstery. Crafting our covers alongside our furniture means that we can tailor each piece to an exacting degree.
