At The Senator Group, we start right at the beginning. We design with reduce in mind, we manufacture with reduce in mind, in fact just about everything is about reducing waste. But when it comIt’ses to reusing and recycling, we have a secret weapon, we call it Sustain.
The Senator Group have been recycling since 2007, fast forward to today and we are at the forefront of recycling practices through our Sustain Recycling Centre. This £1.5m facility and its services are available to support you. Let us help you on the journey to net zero.
Whether the furniture is separated and segregated into raw materials or in some cases donated by our Wishlist Scheme, our Furniture Recycling Service provides a solution for all end-of-life furniture. Sustain not only recycles The Senator Group’s furniture, we also take any furniture type to ensure it gets recycled and fed back into the supply chain.
A service available to reduce your waste costs, ensure that you’re packaging is recycled effectively and responsibly, whilst keeping compliant with waste regulations and legislations. The bags are 1 cubic metre in volume providing a substantial saving on the equivalent skip costs, all you have to do is segregate the packaging and we will do the rest.
How Sustain supports the circular economy
Having our own recycling division is a unique benefit for us, enabling us to identify waste streams that can be reused within our supply chain. Understanding the processing and onward journey of our waste enables us to highlight opportunities for these waste streams to be re-incorporated into our processes.
When we start to think of designing a new product, we consider recycled and recyclable materials wherever possible; with Sustain down the road from our factories, we can control every stage of a products life. From using fewer virgin materials right at the very start of production, to recycling and reusing our old products part by part at the very end. Ultimately this supports us in reducing our demand on raw materials and reduces the embodied carbon of our products.
Panel Partner: Kronospan
Kronospan is one of our most forward-thinking suppliers when it comes to sustainability and ethics and are our biggest supplier of MFC. Kronospan has been a key partner in our sustainability journey and through our Sustain Recycling Centre and our sustainability partners, we feed recycled wood back into the supply chain, and it returns to us in the panels we use for tables and desking.
We've donated over 1,500 items to local causes
Last year, we donated over 1,500 items to local causes and over 3,500 items of furniture as part of our Wishlist Programme.
