We supported NHS Blood and Transplant as they developed their research centre at Barnsley Hospital. The 6,750m² site encompassed three labs on the ground floor and an additional lab, open plan office space, meeting rooms and catering facilities housed on the first floor. The centre also houses environmentally controlled laboratories to be used to research advanced cell therapies.

The Senator Group in partnership with dealer Jenkinson’s, entered the tender process for the new build hospital via a Shared Business Services tender which required a furniture solution that is of excellent quality and adhered to infection control policies where necessary. After successfully being awarded the project, we used their experience and knowledge of the healthcare industry to adjust the upholstery technique used on some products including Pause by Allermuir, to enhance the infection control element of the product.
